A Quick Twitter Rant on Followers and Unfollowers!

Posted on : 09-03-2010 | By : Blazing Minds | In : Twitter Tweets

Ok so I know it’s been a little while since I stopped by BloggingWire and posted anything, but with my busy lifestyle of jetting all over the globe and all the red carpet events I have to attend, then the blog took a bit of a back seat ;)

So onto the post, Twitter, as we all tend to know what Twitter is these days, I won’t go into what it is, but I will go into a little thing that really annoys the heck out of me and that’s is ….

Followers that Unfollow in a matter of minutes after following

I mean what is the point, besides that they are obviously using some software that as soon as it follows if you don’t follow back they will unfollow you, to be quite honest, it’s followers like that, that I can do without..

Since starting the official Blazing Minds twitter, I have had a good following building up and though I do follow you all back, I must say that those that have stayed with me are loyal to my tweets and a lot of you, you know who you are, do retweet my tweets and blog posts, which I am most grateful for.

But it’s just those ones that follow, unfollow straight away that annoy me, I’ve even seen twitters do this, just to stay on the top of my followers page, be warned you will get blocked and hopefully banned from Twitter…

There, that’s my rant over, now back to work ;)

Importing Your CDs on Your Computer Using iTunes

Posted on : 09-02-2010 | By : Blazing Minds | In : Music

Those of you reading my blog will of read yesterday on my Tips For Upgrading Your Imported CDs on iTunes so today I’m going to bring you some more iTunes tips on adding your CDs to iTunes music, simple enough to do, but what if you want to control how iTunes records your CDs and what format they are when they have been added to iTunes.

Ok, load up your iTunes and select preferences “Edit>Preferences” now you want to be in the general tab, you want to edit the settings to to be the same as those in the picture below:

This is to tell iTunes that you want to view the CD contents before you add it to iTunes, very helpful if you only want certain tracks and not the whole album. Now you have that set, click the “Import Settings” button, this will now upon up a window for the recording quality.

There are several formats you can record in AAC, AIFF, Apple Lossless, MP3 and WAV. I’m going to choose AAC which is the standard on iTunes, so just click on the “Import Using” box to select your chosen format for CD ripping!

Now we have chosen that, click on setting and select “Custom” this will now open the window for setting your custom settings, I have an iPod classic, so I have the room to produce bigger files for the music so I use a VBR (Variable Bit Rate) which is what the iTunes store now also uses.

If you use the same settings I have above then you recording sound pretty good, obviously you can play around with the settings, but, I’ve found these to give a good recording while not having a file that is too big.

So after confirming these settings all you have to do is insert your CD and view the contents, decide if you want the whole album or just certain tracks and then hit the “Import CD” button, if you are upgrading tracks then you will see a warning asking if you want to replace the files, click “Replace Existing” and off it goes.

That’s about it really, it’s that simple.

Thanks for reading ;)

Tips For Upgrading Your Imported CDs on iTunes

Posted on : 08-02-2010 | By : Blazing Minds | In : Music

Now this little tip is useful to those of you who may have had an iPod with a smaller capacity before upgrading to one with a much better one, such as an iPod Nano to an iPod Classic.

I found that when I originally upgraded to a bigger iPod I found that I had all my imported CDs recorded at 128kbps which is probably fine for most people, but I can certainly here the difference when a CD is imported with a setting of 256kbps and VBR (Variable Bit Rate), but what if you have already imported some of your CDs at a higher rate, how do you find out which ones are in a lower setting?

A Twub for Those That Love Photography!

Posted on : 02-02-2010 | By : Blazing Minds | In : Digital Photography

Yes, I’ve become the admin of yet another Twub!

This time it for “Digital Photography“, there are so many of us out there using digital cameras these days and posting the results on the net, that I thought it would be a good idea for fellow camera owners to get a little bit more from the internet and so now you can by using the hashtag #DigitalPhotography in your Tweets.

Of course it would be great if those that do it could also join the Twub, that way can follow each other and see what sort of photos are been taken and published onto the net.

So please stop by and don’t forget to add the #DigitalPhotography tag to your tweets whenyou are tweeting your photos ;)

Have you noticed the Donation Button?

Posted on : 01-02-2010 | By : Blazing Minds | In : General

Now it’s not very often that I ask for anything from anyone, but there comes a time when I have to and I’ve just added a button on the sidebar of this blog that is for making donations and as you can see it’s early days yet, these donations are to help me get the latest Remergence album mastered and distributed out to the many online music distribution sites.

It’s the mastering that is going to be the costly side of things, so it’s needs to be done as there are some companies that prefer a mastered copy, plus it makes the recording sound a damn site better.

So if there is anyone reading this that would be kind enough to help out then many, many thanks, just click on the button in the sidebar and go from there, it doesn’t have to be a large amount, though that would be nice ;)

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps by donating..
