I Finally Got To See AVATAR!

It’s taken me a while to try and get to see AVATAR, first I went away the week the film started and then when I got back the weather was so bad I couldn’t get out to see it!
But last night I finally got to see the movie that everyone is raving about and yes I did go and see the 3D version, why anyone would want to see a 3D film in 2D is beyond me.
So I got to the cinema at about seven last night and got my tickets which cost £6.70, the wonders of the Orange Wednesday where you get 2 for 1
also as I’d already got my own 3D glasses I didn’t have to pay for those either, without the 2 for 1 and my own glasses it would of come to £15 for two of us.
To waste a bit of time we popped into McDonalds for a coffee, which is next door to Cineworld, then got back to the cinema at around 7:40 and there was a queue building already to get in, finally got in and the place was filling up so quickly, quite surprising considering the bad weather!
Now onto the film, considering the film last for 162 minutes it flew by, the 3D in the film was amazing, probably the best I’ve seen so far, it is indeed a fantastic film with vibrant colours, amazing surround sound, ok the story may seem a bit familiar, kind of reminded me of Pocahontas or may be that’s just me.
But, AVATAR is certainly worth the money and if your cinema is showing the 3D version then go and see that one, you won’t regret it.

Karen, I’m glad you made it there and back home safely. Every review of the movie has had nothing but good things to say about it. How long have you owned your 3D glasses?

Thanks Ileane. When I first went to see Ice Age 3, I kept the glasses instead of handing them back in for recycling, must have had a premonition about needing them, so now I take my own, saves me an extra 80p per 3D film
I’m glad you got see to the movie and you got back safely. In Dallas, they just give them out for free and we hand them back at the end of the movie. They have some teenager sitting there at the door (looking bored) next to the return bin making sure we turn them in and not keep them. Since they are free, I guess that is part of the reason why tickets cost about $6 more than a regular ticket. (regular price $9)

Our cinema has always charged for the glasses, but have only just said that we should keep them and recycle them by using them over and over again, but we have to remember to mention we’ve already got them, so we don’t get charged for a pair again!
oh I’m so excited to see it! I rarely watch movies but for some reason I really want to go see this one. 3D sounds cool too!

I almost never see movies as well. We usually wait till DVD. You can almost buy the DVD for the price of a movie. So now we only go if it is something we really, really want to see. The last movie we sent before that was The Boondocks Saints: All Saints Day. That tells you how often we see movies.

The only trouble is the DVDs are not in “Real3D”..
The days of the old 3D are dead the “Real3D” movies are out of this world, you have to see them to know what I mean
