The other day I tweeted about the Madeira Cake I had just made, so I thought it was about time I brought you all the recipe

You will need:

1. 150g Butter
2. 150g Caster Suger
3. 3 medium eggs, lightly whisked
4. 225g Self Raising Flour
5. a few drops of lemon essence
6. 18cm cake tin, greased

How to make the tasty Madeira Cake

1. Pre heat you oven to 180°C, 350°F GasMark 4
2. Cream the butter and the sugar, beat in the lightly whisked eggs with a small amount of flour
3. Add the lemon essence and then fold in the flour that is left.
4. Bake in the oven for 1¼ hours.
