The climate GOD, at last become happy to make the mankind in this part of India feel the cool of Rainy season. It is pleasant now.To-day is a holiday but emergency section in hospital is on as usual. Now it is in news that Govt. want to double the salary of doctors willing to work in remote localities. I do not know whether this will yield any result.Basic question is not only salary. It all about infrastructure and other facilities. In remote areas there is no good residence facility,if one is there it may not be electrified and if that is there no provision of water supply.Something will be in shortfall. If all these are there no good facility (school) for study of their children. If all of the above are there there will be lack of proper equipments for smooth professional work and growth. After completion of study one doctor always wants to utilize his knowledge in treating patients and in want of the facility he draws flak. Also there is no full proof transfer policy,Policy for career progression, policy for promotion and above all low payment in comparison to other less stressful jobs.
It is not that the so called think thaks do not know it ,it is their mental set up not to give better facility to doctors . Govt. should short out these problems before relying too much only on hiking the pay to draw doctors to remote areas.
All these are causes for why I left Orissa Govt. service.

It was a breaking news in one of of the TV channel “The Headlines Today” in India that milk is adulterated in most of Northern parts of India.Allegedly artificial milk is being prepared by mixing urea, detergents and some other things which constitutes about70% of total milk. This is not the first time news anyway because such news had already been seen by me in some other channel, probably in “The India Tv” some one to two years back.
Govt.Of India spokes person expressed his inability in the media to curb it, stating it to be a state subject and finished their duty by informing the state Govt. only.
This sort of apathy is only possible in india. The so called morality and integrity are lacking starting from the grass root level.Evrybody thinks it will affect somebody else not him.
Only I can suggest those having no cow or no access to see actual milking process should avoid taking milk and milk products. But I do not know what to suggest for babies depending on cow’s milk, probably shift to baby foods!!!

At present entrance tests are going on in
India for entry into professional courses like MBBS,Engineering and MBA etc. after 12th class.I read a good article in the local daily”The Samaj” and wanted to give my own comment. It has been described that students are preferring engineering stream over medical and I agree to it.In India
medical service in
Govt. Sector is not satisfactory. Now it is not considered to be a noble profession also. This is a set back and no body seems to be concerned about it.Time will come when this profession will only get entrants from back benches.
Getting to medical course is a difficult affair in a sense that one has to be thorough in pre-medical subjects. The time of study is longer than engineering and the study never ends i.e. one has to continuously go on updating himself through out his life. The dissatisfaction and indifferent attitude of general public towards the doctors has to be borne .The odd time of work i.e. at any time one can be called to attend patients. The false acquisitions by the patients hurts many times .Lack of infrastructure for professional growth i.e. even there is no roof for a doctor at some places.Good schools for study of their children is a day dream at many places. And as a final nail on the coffin of aspiration to become a doctor is abysmal salary in comparison to engineering and MBA graduates. All these disadvantages are gone if one opts for engineering or MBA.
That is why there is brain drain from India.
I think time has already come in India for think thanks to explore possibilities for medical profession to grow in knowledge and change the outlook towards the profession. It is also true that along with general degradation in social value there has been degradation in this profession also.
BUT EXCEPTION IS NOT THE RULE.
