Last night was another long one with almost no sleep. Its now 8AM and I been up almost an hour. I went to bed about 400AM. Last night I finally had the time to finish setting up my new computer. Well after getting everything setup, I found one of the computer monitors has a red stuck pixel right in the middle of the screen! I spent some time researching this issue, I found that this fairly common with new high resolution LCDs. I tried several software methods to get it unstuck and I am having no luck. I am now trying JScreenFix and that method said it could take up to 5 minutes to 20 fix and at worse case all night. I tried last night but, being forgetting at that late hour, I forgot turn off sleep mode. So I am now running the program again. If that does not work, I can try several manual methods. If they also else fail, I will call Fry’s Electronics and see if I can exchange or return it.
Another Busy Night
oh what a piss of. Companies don’t make anything quality anymore. It’s brand new and you have to try and fix pixels? I would be extremely pissed of if that happened to me.

Asus also has a stupid policy of must have 8 plus dead pixel policy. If its less than 8, don’t even try to get them to fix it and if they are stuck pixels don’t bother asking them to fix it.
I may still do it. I also found out they do not check every LCD that they manufacture. How how hard is it to power it up and check for dead pixels? It took me less than 2 minutes to figure it out, that I was screwed.
I should have bought the stupid extended warranty. I never buy extended warranties. If I had, this would have fixed the problem.
I am not sure about Fry’s dead pixel policy., they have a 30 day no questions asked, but they do have 10 percent restocking fee. I hope I can just get them to exchange it.

Wow, I’m glad you are taking it so calmly. I had a problem with a monitor I got from MicroCenter that I didn’t have a warranty for. The manufacturer went out of business so there really much I could do. I wasn’t too upset because I only spent about $150 on it.
I hope you get this resolved soon, good luck.
