We Had Our Version of Dallas Snow Storm

I woke this morning  at 5:30 AM my neighbor hood was covered with 3 inches of soft powdered snow. We normally get sleet and watery snow mix. It snowed all day and it is still snowing now. We are expected to get about 10 inches of snow today. If Dallas gets more than 10 inches, we will have a record breaking amount of snow fall in one day!I am not looking forward to tomorrow morning. I have to get up for work at 5:30 AM again with a nice layer of ice on everything.

solBAT II – Solar Powered Backup Battery and Charger

Posted via web from evolutionary designs

SChoshChe SolBat II is a Solar Powered Battery and Charger. This little gadget is a solar charger with a 1500mAh capacity battery and 5-volt output for only about $30. The SolBatt II sports a USB port that will charge most electronic devices.

The Solar Charger takes about four or five days to fully charge and comes with a suction cup so you can attach to your windshield of your car. But if you to charge it fast you can charger the battery fully in 5 hours through a USB port on your computer.

For the price of 30 bucks, you can have an emergency charger for you cell phone or mp3 player. How well this works, I do not know. If I end up purchasing one, I will review it.

Annoyed…Twitter Account Got Hacked

I was just on TweetDeck up and running on one of my screens while I was working on the other screen doing some video editing. When I got a popup message stating my Twitter account changed passwords. I check and it no longer worked. I went asked for a reset. But my account got locked out. Luckily I changed it before the account was damaged. But I broke it testing the password login attempts.  So no I have to wait for 60 minutes to see if my account can be opened. I think I got everything changed before the hacker could change anything. So now I am going through and changed a lot of my passwords and make sure everyone is different and strong.

HubPage Review

After several days of research and testing Hubpages, I have found that it is possible to to make money and drive traffic to your site. To do this you have to be dedicated to hubpages. You have to keep a 75 or better in order to have your links set as Dofollow. You have to constantly write new hubs and they have to be well thought, orginal content, and longer than 300 words, comment and follow people to keep be a good hubber.

I found that if you do not do these things people flag your work, your traffic to your hubs slows down, and you do not get any followers. When using hubpages I spend a lot of time on there and haven’t seen any results. If I had the time and could write a ton of hubs, I can see the benefit.

Earlier I wrote up a hub and it got flogged for not enough content, so I started fixing it up. I am about halfway done and I realized this post should be a real blog post and not hub post. So I am going to stop using hubpages for now. I will delete my hubs and move them to my blog since they are unpublished.

Trying Out HubPages

For the last couple of weeks I have been looking into another way to get back links and create new content to drive traffic to my blogs. Today I decided to create an account on HubPages.  I came to this decision after several weeks of research and now I am in the test phase of this little project. The research found says that you can use HubPages to drive traffice to your site by posting “limited” or Cliff’s Notes version of a blog posting.

HubPages offers DoFollow links if your post is popular and they offer several platforms for revenue sharing.  Several users reported that their newly created hubs could be seen in the search engine results any from several hours to 24 hours. As for my first post I have seen much traffic about 20 visitors in the last 5 hours.

I am going to try two different ways to test out HubPages.

The first test will be creating a Hub first and add some information, important links, and some video. Then sometime during the next day I will recreate the complete post with more content and go back to the hub and add the link back to the original post.

For the second test, I will create a post on my blog and then go out and create a hub based on the post with link back to the original content.

The Hub and the Post will have the same content but worded differently and they will have different types of media if any is needed.

Take a look at my first hub. Blogging Resources and Videos

Asus LCD Stuck Pixel Issue has Been Resolved

After some research and testing, I could not resolved my stuck pixel issue on my new Asus LCD. I called Fry’s.com and they offered to return it free of charge and they will even reimburse for shipping. They gave me a return number and said that once they receive I should have the money back in my account and I should also fax in the receipt for the shipping and they add that to the reimbursement as well. So on Monday I will be shipping my monitor off. Once I get my money back, I can then buy the replace.

Another Busy Night

Last night was another long one with almost no sleep. Its now 8AM and I been up almost an hour. I went to bed about 400AM.  Last night I finally had the time to finish setting up my new computer. Well after getting everything setup, I found one of the computer monitors has a red stuck pixel right in the middle of the screen! I spent some time researching this issue, I found that this fairly common with new high resolution LCDs. I tried several software methods to get it unstuck and I am having no luck. I am now trying JScreenFix and that method said it could take up to 5 minutes to 20 fix and at worse case all night. I tried last night but, being forgetting at that late hour, I forgot turn off sleep mode. So I am now running the program again. If that does not work, I can try several manual methods. If they also else fail, I will call Fry’s Electronics and see if I can exchange or return it.
